Kendre Miller Injury Update
Saints rookie running back Kendre Miller is dealing with a sprained knee, according to head coach Dennis Allen. He'll undergo some further imaging, and it's in the same one he was rehabbing from in the offseason.
UPDATE (8/14): NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill reported that Miller escaped serious injury and will miss 1-2 weeks with a minor sprain.
SAINTS PRESEASON OPENER: WHAT WE LEARNED
Miller got hurt in the third quarter during Sunday's comeback win against the Chiefs. He was in the injury tent for a few minutes, and then made his way to the team locker room under his own power.
The Saints already lost Eno Benjamin (ruptured Achilles) for the season and had Kirk Merritt out due to a hamstring. Ellis Merriweather did a nice job stepping in overall, but New Orleans may need to make some calls to get another running back or two in the mix for next week.
The team will leave for California on Wednesday this week for joint practices with the Chargers. They had previously visited with Kareem Hunt, and it might be a good time to open that door back up or look elsewhere.
