Paulson Adebo Wins NFC Defensive Player of the Week
The NFL announced their players of the week for Week 9 action, which sees Saints cornerback Paulson Adebo taking down the NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. It's the first time in his career that he's won the honor.
Against the Bears, Adebo was responsible for three takeaways, getting two picks and forcing/recovering a fumble. He finished with 7 total tackles (5 solo, 2 asssisted) and three pass breakups while leading the way for the Saints in Pro Football Focus grading with a 92.9 overall grade.
Adebo is the fifth player since 2000 to have the 2 interceptions and a forced/recovered fumble in a game, and is first cornerback since Charles Woodson (2009) to do it.
The third-rounder from the 2021 draft has made his mark in the secondary and has been playing extremely well opposite of Marshon Lattimore. He's also thriving well with new coaching additions Joe Woods and Marcus Robertson.
The Saints look to keep their momentum going when they take on Josh Dobbs and the Vikings on Sunday.
