Saints Won't Be On Hard Knocks
The Saints won't have to deal with HBO's Hard Knocks in a couple of weeks. According to a Wednesday morning report by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Jets will be featured on the program. We learned at the end of June that they were considered as the frontrunner for an involuntary assignment.
Along with the Jets and Saints, the Commanders and Bears were also teams that could have been selected for Hard Knocks. The NFL has never waited this long to announce who would be on, and some of that was reportedly due to backlash from teams.
Dennis Allen was asked about his thoughts regarding Hard Knocks, to which he said, “I wouldn’t like it because I just want to focus on our football team and getting better, and any distractions are exactly that, distractions that keep you, ultimately, from reaching your goal."
If New Orleans wants to avoid this potential headache for next season, then they need to get into the postseason this year. New players like Derek Carr and Jamaal Williams said their experience with the program wasn't all that bad. The Jets made the most sense at the end of the day. They became prime time darlings after the Aaron Rodgers saga, and now it'll be must see TV.
