The Saints are re-signing Ty Summers, according to his personal Instagram account. It's a one-year deal for the former 2019 pick. Summers was signed off the Jaguars practice squad right before Christmas last season, appearing in three games for the Saints.

New Orleans had some holes at linebacker with Kaden Elliss leaving for the Falcons and restricted free agents Chase Hansen and Andrew Dowell hitting the open market. Getting Summers back will at least give the team a special teams player who could compete for some playing time. The TCU product hasn't seen defensive snaps since his time with the Packers in 2020 and 2021.
The Saints were fairly active on the day, signing three free agents, plugging holes on the interior line with Nathan Shepherd and Khalen Saunders, and then landing a big prize in Jamaal Williams for their backfield. New Orleans still has plenty of work to do and areas to address, as free agency is ongoing. We'll see where they go next soon.
