Saints-Chargers Game On As Scheduled
The NFL will be keeping the Saints-Chargers game on as scheduled, according a league source.
There was a conference call on Friday afternoon with the Chargers, Saints and the NFL, and the parties also discussed things on Saturday morning. However, things will go on as planned with a 4:05 p.m. local kickoff time (6:05 p.m. CT).
Based on the latest weather alert, Hurricane Hilary is expected to make landfall as a Tropical Storm in the Los Angeles area on Sunday evening/night. This is quite a historic event for Southern California, as the last time a storm like this made landfall was back in 1939.
Dennis Allen said on Friday, "Obviously, with the weather, the most important thing is that everybody stays safe, so whatever it takes for everybody to stay safe, that's what we've got to do."
There were several other professional sporting events in the MLS and MLB that were rescheduled due to the storm. Moving things up was a hard option for the game, as the Rams host the Raiders on Saturday evening in SoFi Stadium.
