New Orleans Saints Lose Cody Rager To Broncos
NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports on Monday that New Orleans Saints assistant scouting director Cody Rager is leaving the organization to accept a position with the Denver Broncos. According to Schefter, the Broncos are finalizing an agreement to make Rager a vice president within their scouting department.
Nick Underhill of neworleans.football reported over the weekend that the Broncos were pursuing Rager. Denver's head coach is of course Sean Payton, who was with the Saints from 2006 to 2021.
Last offseason, Payton brought several former New Orleans assistants onto his staff after his rights were traded from the Saints to the Broncos. Rager will reportedly work closely with Payton and Broncos General Manager George Paton.
Rager had spent nine years in the New Orleans scouting department. He began as a scout in the West Coast region for the team. In 2021, Rager was promoted to assistant college scouting director directly under Jeff Ireland, Saints assistant General Manager and Director of College Scouting.
