The New Orleans Saints NFC South division rival is interviewing high-profile candidates for its head coach vacancy. Reportedly, the Atlanta Falcons and owner Arthur Blank met with six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach Bill Belichick.

Atlanta interviewed Jim Harbaugh. He recently led the Michigan Wolverines to win the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship against the Washington Huskies.

Harbaugh, 60, is familiar with the NFL as a player and coach. He led the San Francisco 49ers for four seasons, won two NFC West division crowns, reached three NFC Championships games, and had his team in Super Bowl XLVII against the Baltimore Ravens.

His 49er teams gave former coach Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints fits. The 2011 NFC Divisional playoff game between the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers is considered a classic. The game ended with a game-winning catch by tight end Vernon Davis, resulting in a 36-34 victory for the Niners.

Following the dismissal of previous head coach Arthur Smith, Atlanta has been actively interviewing several candidates. Besides Belichick and Harbaugh, the other interviewees include Steve Wilks, Anthony Weaver, Ejiro Evero, Brian Callahan, and Mike Macdonald.
