Saints Film Study: The Good and Bad From the Loss to the Packers

We put the Packers loss to bed after a rewatch. Here's what some of the Saints film told us.
In this story:

The Saints undoubtedly wanted to move on from their loss to the Packers relatively quickly. The good in this game certainly got overshadowed by the final quarter of play. After checking the tape again, here's some of the biggest things to stand out from the game in our weekly film study segment.

Saints Film Study Notes vs. Packers

  • Alontae Taylor might have been the best defensive player on the field.
  • Isaac Yiadom did a nice job in relief for Paulson Adebo.
  • Rashid Shaheed finally gets his on a punt return.
  • Getting some good runs from Kendre Miller and Tony Jones Jr., but not nearly enough.
  • Where was Taysom Hill?
  • Breaking down the Derek Carr sacks and what went wrong. In short, the offensive line has got to figure this out.
  • Saints defense made Jordan Love look really bad through the first several quarters, but they got to finish.
  • Chris Olave continues to be something special.
  • Defensive breakdowns late in the game.
  • Play calling later in the game really was questionable with Jameis Winston at the helm.
