Saints Injury Report | Saturday, Day 9
After Day 9 of Saints Training Camp, John Hendrix reported several significant injuries, including Demario Davis, one of the team's defensive leaders. Head coach Dennis Allen told the media that Davis went into the locker room for "imaging on his calf."
Running backs Eno Benjamin and Kendre Miller had injuries in the morning workout. Benjamin's was the more serious when he went down with torn Achilles tendon. Hendrix tweeted that the rusher had to be "carted off after an apparent non-contact injury." Miller's "jaw" was being evaluated by the Saints medical team, Allen reported.
The team must plan to fill the running back position with an experienced player. Alvin Kamara will miss the season's first three games due to his suspension from the league following the Las Vegas incident in February 2022. Benjamin's injury will have him out for the 2023-24 season.
Wide receivers Tre'Quan Smith and Rashid Shaheed had to leave early during practice due to groin injuries. Keep an eye on Shaheed's injury; Hendrix stated the wideout left minicamp with an groin injury.
Additionally, defensive tackle Bryan Bresee, New Orleans' first-round pick, is currently dealing with a calf injury.
