Saints Medical Team Uncovers Hodgkin's Lymphoma for Foster Moreau

Foster Moreau had a routine physical with the Saints which uncovered something very serious that he'll have to shift his attention and focus to.
In this story:

Free agent tight end Foster Moreau visited the Saints recently, and he revealed some heartbreaking news on Wednesday evening that will undoubtedly force him to step away from football for the time being. Moreau has Hodgkin's Lymphoma, something that was uncovered during a routine physical conducted by the Saints medical team.

Through somewhat of a miraculous process, this Free Agency period has been life changing for me. During a routine physical conducted by the Saint’s medical team down in New Orleans, I’ve come to learn that I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and will be stepping away from football at this time to fight a new opponent: Cancer. I’m grateful for the support and thankful for people who have stood firm with me. There hasn’t been a single step I’ve taken without hundreds of people lighting the path before me, and I will continue to seek their guidance. That being said, I’ll go kick this thing’s ass and get back to doing what I love! AMDG!

Moreau, a New Orleans native who played collegiately at LSU, looked like a promising addition to the team with Derek Carr at the helm, but this is a time to know that things are bigger than football. Carr and many around the football world have come together to show their support for Moreau.

This isn't the first time the Saints medical staff has uncovered a very serious medical condition, as Jon Dorenbos comes to mind. The team acquired the Eagles veteran via a trade in late August 2017, and was diagnosed not long after with an aortic aneurysm, which required immediate heart surgery. It's the same doctor who caught it too, Dr. John Amoss. Just a few months before, defensive tackle Nick Fairley was on the non-football injury list with a lingering heart condition that never saw him play again.

We wish Foster Moreau the best and hope for a speedy recovery.
