TOM AND GAYLE BENSON FOUNDATION DONATES TO UNCF

Many HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) across the United States are struggling to stay afloat amid the COVID-19 pandemic and existing financial inequities.  New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson donated $1 million to the United Negro College Fund during their New Orleans chapter fundraiser, the "New Orleans UNCF Virtual Mayor's Masked Ball."

Mrs. Benson remarked to the attendees, "UNCF has made a life-changing difference for over 500,000 individuals in our country for more than 76 years by providing scholarship assistance to under-represented students.  While this is an amazing achievement, there are still many more students in need of the programs and college scholarships UNCF helps provide. I am humbled to make this contribution in support of this great organization and the students who will benefit from these scholarships in our community."

"Honestly, playing against them. I saw how their defensive line especially just got after it. You see it with their production on the field, how they stop the run, how they really get after the passer and playing them, seeing that in person really is what made that stick to me."  - Kpassagnon to the media
