The New Orleans Saints offensive coaching staff continues to get a makeover. Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com reports that Saints QB coach Ronald Curry will not be part of the offensive staff in 2024 under recently hired new coordinator Klint Kubiak. Dan Graziano of ESPN also reports that Saints assistant offensive line coach Kevin Carberry is leaving to accept a position as offensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Carberry, 40, will join new offensive coordinator Liam Coen in Tampa Bay. He had been with New Orleans for just one season under recently fired offensive line coach Doug Marrone. Prior to that, Carberry had worked with Coen for two years on the staff of the Los Angeles Rams.

Curry, 44, has been with the Saints since 2016. He served as an offensive assistant under former head coach Sean Payton for two years before being promoted to WR coach in 2018. After two seasons in that position, he was moved to QB coach in 2021.

Katherine Terrell of ESPN reports that the Saints approached Curry with an opportunity to go back to coaching the team's wideouts under Kubiak. He declined, instead choosing for a fresh start elsewhere. Curry didn't have to wait long, reportedly getting offered a job on the offensive staff of the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday morning.

Carberry and Curry are the seventh coaches to leave the New Orleans staff this offseason. Offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael, WR coach Kodi Burns, and senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell were fired in January. Joel Thomas, RB coach, also left around that same time to accept the same position with the New York Giants. Offensive line coach Doug Marrone was terminated last week.

The Saints reportedly agreed to terms with San Francisco 49ers passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak to become the new offensive coordinator last week. Kubiak will officially take the position after the 49ers play the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday.

Currently, only TE coach Clancy Barone, assistant offensive line coach Jahri Evans, and offensive assistants Kevin Petry and D.J. Williams remain on the offensive staff. The Saints are reportedly interested in John Benton as a possible offensive line coach. Presumably, Kubiak will have a say in the hires for QB coach, WR coach, RB coach, and other spots on the staff.

The Saints finished 14th in total offense and ninth in points scored last season. They were 11th in passing production but just 21st in rushing yards and 31st in yards per carry. New Orleans averaged 28.8 points over the last six games of the year, but were held to 20 points or less in seven of their first 11 outings.
