Saints Rework Cam Jordan Contract
The Saints have reworked the contract of defensive end Cam Jordan, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move will have New Orleans pick up an additional $10 million in cap space this year.
The team has to be in compliance with the salary cap prior to the start of the new league year on Wednesday afternoon, and Jordan was a major piece of the puzzle to help get them there. The Saints could still look at someone like Marshon Lattimore to create more space, but after that, things get a little complicated.

There was some potential concern about Jordan's future in New Orleans, and rightfully so, but from what I heard at the Senior Bowl, Jordan wasn't going to be on the move and wanted to finish out his career with the Saints. The defense is certainly going to lean on him a bit for production, and it'll be interesting to see how they approach the edge position with Ryan Nielsen now in Atlanta.
Jordan, who will turn 34 at the beginning of July, became the franchise's all-time sack leader last season. He's a big part of what the team will try to do this season under Dennis Allen, and it could be one of the last couple of attempts for them to make a postseason run with players like Jordan and Demario Davis in the mix.
