The New Orleans Saints have signed free-agent S Ugo Amadi, according to the NFL newswire. Amadi finished last season on the practice squad of the Kansas City Chiefs.

A fourth-round pick out of Oregon by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2019 NFL Draft, Amadi has been mostly a special teams performer in his four NFL seasons. He appeared in 55% of Seattle's defensive snaps in both 2020 and 2021.

The 25-year-old Amadi played three seasons for the Seahawks. He had one interception (in 2021), forced two fumbles and recovered another, and broke up 13 passes while recording 125 tackles.

Amadi was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles last preseason. He was traded again at the end of the preseason, this time to the Tennessee Titans. He'd spend half the season on the Titans practice squad before being signed off of it by the Chiefs.

A physical safety at 5'9" and 201-Lbs., Amadi had nine career interceptions in college. He'll attempt to crack a New Orleans safety position that includes Tyrann Mathieu and Marcus Maye but also has safeties P.J. Williams, J.T. Gray, and Daniel Sorensen headed to free agency.
