Saints Make a Host of Wednesday Transactions
The Saints made several transactions on Wednesday, which included placing Payton Turner on injured reserve. New Orleans added Kyle Phillips and Lynn Bowden Jr. to the active roster, so it looks like they're still one shy for now.
Phillips is a veteran with some experience under his belt and looks to be in the lineup sooner rather than later, while adding Bowden Jr. is a bit interesting. As we've pointed out previously, Turner's turf toe injury will require surgery and could see him back around the Week 13-14 mark.
Linebacker Ryan Connelly received a practice squad/injured designation, as Dennis Allen said that he suffered a knee injury in the same one as before. The Saints also signed four new players to the practice squad: Defensive back Faion Hicks, tight end Michael Jacobson, linebacker Terrell Lewis, and linebacker Ty Summers are the new additions. Summers has been around, so he'll likely be someone who backfills Connelly's spot.
We'll see what happens with any other corresponding moves, as our first look at the team will come on Thursday ahead of the game against the Panthers.
