The Seattle Seahawks are keeping their eye on several coaching candidates to replace Pete Carroll, who mutually agreed to step down with front office officials last week.

According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, one of those potential candidates is former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel, who was fired by the team after six seasons earlier this month.

Vrabel has quite the resume both as a player and a coach. As a player, Vrabel won three Super Bowls as a linebacker with the New England Patriots.

After 14 years playing in the NFL, Vrabel went on as a position coach at his alma mater, Ohio State. In 2014, Vrabel made the move back to the NFL as a linebackers coach under Bill O'Brien. Three years later, he was promoted to defensive coordinator and the Titans hired him as their coach in 2018.

In six years with the Titans, Vrabel went to the playoffs three times and won the AFC South twice. He led the Titans all the way to the AFC Championship in 2019 with Ryan Tannehill under center, but they ultimately fell short to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now, Vrabel is looking for a new opportunity, and with the Seahawks looking for someone who can pick up where Carroll left off, he may be one of the more ideal candidates in Seattle's coaching search.
