'Electric!' Seahawks' Next Coach? ESPN's Mina Kimes Picks Cowboys' Dan Quinn
ESPN's Mina Kimes and the Seattle Seahawks? She knows 'em and she loves 'em. And with Pete Carroll no longer in place as the team's head coach as of Wednesday, she is ready to tab his replacement.
"I think Seattle should conduct a broad search bc there are so many top tier candidates this cycle, buuuuuuuuuuuut Dan Quinn + Devon Witherspoon would be electric," Kimes wrote.
She's not alone, of course. Quinn is a sentimentally sound choice to many. But in many ways he might end up being the most sound pick of any of the "top-tier'' candidates.
And to the X's and O's of it all specific to the Seahawks? Kimes' suggestion that Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Quinn - who of course worked here under Carroll in the Super Bowl era - would bring out the best in Seahawks young cornerback Devon Witherspoon?
Yes, we get that as well.
Quinn served as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2015 to 2020, going 43-42 and leading the to the Super Bowl in 2016. He later made his move to Dallas, where he is heralded as one of the best in the business.
Who else is "top-tier''? Know that a report in Dallas via a source has Quinn quickly vaulting onto the Seattle "wish list'' and also know that there will surely be an attraction to the "young gun'' candidates. (See below).

But if Bill Belichick is available? If Jim Harbaugh is available?
Dan Quinn really might be the next head coach of the Seahawks ... but there might be other "electric'' ideas that merit examination, too.
