Ironman DK Metcalf Moves Onto Seattle Injury Report for Week 17 vs. Steelers
The Seattle Seahawks have jousted their way into the NFC playoff picture, presently sitting in the No. 7 slot and at 8-7 right behind the division-rival Los Angeles Rams.
There is some injury-related optimism as Seattle readies for NFL Week 17 Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with coach Pete Carroll offering a positive health update on QB Geno Smith and on safety Jamal Adams.
But in addition to some concern about the availability of running back Kenneth Walker (who missed Thursday's work due to both a shoulder problem and an illness), now star Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf has popped up on the injury report.
Kenneth Walker OUT of Practice for Seahawks
Metcalf is listed as having a back issue ... following up him having dealt with hip and rib injuries earlier this season. He has missed or been limited in practice fairly consistently ... but amid speculation that this back injury might be a serious one, Metcalf has only missed one game in his entire five-year NFL career.
Three weeks ago, Seattle sat in the ninth spot in the NFC standings. But now Circumstances have caused the Seahawks to have complete control over their destiny. If they can win their final two games, no matter what happens in the rest of the NFC, they will now be guaranteed a Wild Card spot ... a job made easier, of course, if DK is available.
