Richard Sherman Demands Staley Be Fired By Chargers - At Halftime!

Seattle Seahawks Ex Richard Sherman Demands Coach Brandon Staley Be Fired By Los Angeles Chargers - At Halftime of 63-21 Loss to Las Vegas Raiders

Here's one we do not believe we've ever seen before: While it would not be surprising to see Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley get fired on the morning after following his "Thursday Night Football'' embarrassment - a 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders - former Seattle Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman thinks "the morning after'' is half a day too late.

"Brandon Staley,'' said Sherm as part of the halftime TV panel on Amazon Prime Video, "I hate to say this because you don't ever wanna call for someone's job. But they should fire him at halftime.''

That is probably a bit drastic. But the Chargers were down by a score of 42-0 at intermission, all led by Staley, who has been dismissive with the media this season when quizzed about the failings of his now 5-9 team.

The Chargers defense, with Staley stubbornly in charge, gave up all those points to a Raiders team that last week got shut out by Minnesota. And the Chargers offense, coached by former Dallas Cowboys hotshot coordinator Kellen Moore, failed to even cross midfield until the third quarter.

After the game, Staley insisted that he should keep his job, saying, "I know what I've done here for three years, and I know what I've put into this, and I know where we're capable of going.

"I know the type of coach I am. I believe in myself."

But Sherman, disgusted by Staley's Chargers, sees something different.

"It looks like they've given up,'' Sherman said. "They've quit. They packed their bags, all their suitcases, booked their vacations, and they're ready to go.''
