Russell's Return: Could QB Wilson Sign with NFC's Vikings, Play In Seattle?
Our old friend quarterback Russell Wilson is likely on the move again, with a divorce from the Denver Broncos franchise coming in the offseason.
So, where could "DangerRuss'' be suiting up in 2024? How about a destination that would return him - via an enemy road game - to Seattle?
According to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, the Minnesota Vikings are a potential landing spot for Wilson once the Broncos finalize their decision to move off of the former Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl QB.
"Don't be surprised if Wilson, should he become a free agent, is intrigued by Minnesota, assuming Kirk Cousins doesn't re-sign with the Vikings (a big question),'' Fowler writes.
That's a few too many "if's'' to etch this idea in stone. And when Fowler goes on to detail some logic behind the notion? It's not very weighty, as he writes, "(Vikings coach) Kevin O'Connell comes from the Sean McVay passing tree that maximizes quarterback efficiency. Wilson would have plenty of weapons in a group that includes Justin Jefferson, T.J. Hockenson and Jordan Addison.''

That all may be true. But what coach doesn't value "quarterback efficiency''? And while the Vikings receiving weapons are indeed top-notch, it wouldn't just be Wilson who would "have'' that; it'd be any QB who signs there.
Cousins, who suffered a season-ending Achilles tear midway through the Vikings' 2023 season, is a free agent this offseason. Cousins and the Vikings have expressed some mutual interest in staying together.
But Russell Wilson is playing somewhere in 2024. And as the schedule has the Vikings playing at Seattle next season? It'd be a fun "reunion of sorts'' to see Wilson back at Lumen Field.
