Russell Wilson 2.0? BYU QB Drawing Comparisons to Seahawks Ex

The Seahawks have a lot to think about at the upcoming draft, like deciding on a quarterback, with a former NFL receiver stating Jaren Hall's playing style is similar to Russell Wilson.
In this story:

The Seattle Seahawks have two first-round picks in this year's NFL Draft (No. 5 and No. 20), with some expecting the franchise to take a quarterback early. But what if Seattle waits until the later rounds?

And what if he's a little like Russell Wilson?

Wilson had a superb spell in Seattle as his playmaking ability became a feature. So, could the Seahawks go after a quarterback of a similar ilk?

According to former NFL receiver Michael Bumpas, BYU quarterback Jaren Hall has similar characteristics to Wilson's.

“I’m looking at this dude, he wears No. 3, the past two seasons he’s thrown for 5,754 yards, 51 touchdowns to 11 interceptions," Bumpas said on "Bump and Stacy.'' "I watched his game and it reminds me of a younger and more modern Russell Wilson. ... His style of play is the exact same.

“This might be a guy that you pick up in the third or fourth round that can blossom into something. I thought 'creative playmaking' when I watched this kid.”

That is high praise for Hall, who is in a draft with a host of top-tier quarterbacks and isn't generally listed among them. But if the Seahawks don't want to use a premium pick on a quarterback, then Hall in the later rounds could prove to be good business.

Despite his size, Hall (6-0, 207, and small hands as well) is said to have great field command, ball placement and poise.

Wilson at 5-11 has had a great career in the NFL despite his size. The comp is a lofty one. But if Hall can carve out a career of any sort in the NFL? He's worth a look.
