In this story:

The Seattle Seahawks tried to recapture greatness - or at least, "goodness'' - with veteran pass rusher Frank Clark.

It did not quite work, and as of Saturday, Clark's time in Seattle is over as he's being released.

This is breaking news but not shocking news. Clark has failed to truly make an impact in Seattle this season since rejoining the first NFL team he played for.

He has played in only six games and has failed to record a sack.

Clark was a 2015 second-round pick of the Seahawks who at different times in his career has displayed star power. He had four solid years in Seattle and then once he landed with Kansas City, had big moments in big games with the Chiefs.

Clark, at 30 years old, will surely wish to hook on with a contender, though other teams will surely note that the team that knows him best - the Seahawks - could not quite make it work.
