Seahawks Land 'Micah Parsons Comp' in 2024 Mock Draft
The Seattle Seahawks spent a lot of resources upgrading their defensive line over the offseason, and 2024 mock drafts have begun suggesting that the team will continue to bolster their pass rush after this year.
In The Athletic's latest 2024 mock draft, they project the Seahawks to select Penn State edge rusher Chop Robinson with the No. 14 overall pick. The site points out that he's received comparisons to Dallas Cowboys All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons.
"Penn State people are already tossing around Micah Parsons comps here, which can get a little dangerous. However, Robinson's versatile athleticism and twitch are reminiscent of the former Nittany Lions and current Cowboys star. Robinson posted a near 20-percent win rate last season. He is mostly untapped potential at the moment, but he's got a lot of it," The Athletic writes.
In his sophomore season at Penn State last year, Robinson helped anchor a defense that allowed only 111.2 rushing yards per game, a ranking that stood as the 17th-best in the country. Robinson was crucial for Penn State, recording ten tackles for a loss, five and a half sacks, and three quarterback hurries. His impressive performance earned him the honor of a Pro Football Focus All-Big Ten second-team selection.
Robinson will get his first chance to improve his draft stock this year when Penn State kicks off its season at Beaver Stadium on Sept. 2 against West Virginia. However, with another season like last year, he could play his way out of the Seahawks' reach unless they are among the league's worst teams.
