Seahawks Boasting 'More Complete Roster' Heading Into Training Camp

The Seattle Seahawks are coming into the season with plenty of reasons for optimism.
In this story:

The Seattle Seahawks have far more expectations than they did a year ago.

After trading Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and inserting Geno Smith into the starting lineup, the Seahawks had zero reason for optimism. However, after last year's historic season from Smith, Seattle defied the odds and made the postseason.

Free agency has allowed the Seahawks to build off their playoff appearance from a year ago, and there's reason to believe Seattle is better today than at the end of last season.

"Seattle added the likes of Jarran Reed, Dre'Mont Jones, Mario Edwards Jr., Bobby Wagner and rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon in the offseason," Bleacher Report writes. "It will also be entering Year 2 with defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt, who transitioned the defense to a 3-4 base system last season."

The 2022 season was definitely a transition year for Seattle. The deck was re-shuffled and a new baseline has been set. Now, it's up to the Seahawks to figure out how to improve from that mark. If the additions on paper translate on the field, it should be no surprise to see Seattle return to the postseason.
