Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams was potentially facing punishment from the NFL for his actions on the sideline in Week 4's win over the New York Giants.

After enjoying the leisure of their bye week, the Seattle Seahawks prepare for the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6. The time off provided some with an opportunity for recreation and for others the chance to get healthy - or healthier in some cases.

As the team takes back to the field in preparation for Sunday, coach Pete Carroll discussed some players who are on the mend. Safety Jamal Adams has not participated in any practices this week, but Carroll indicated he could return in a matter of days.

"He's on the final stage, coming up, getting cleared and a pretty promising thought that he will be cleared (Tuesday)," Carroll said.

Adams took the field Monday night for the first time in over a year but lasted just nine plays in the season opener after he suffered a concussion while attempting a tackle on Giants quarterback Daniel Jones after taking a knee to the head.

The former LSU Tiger was helped off the field and then famously yelled at the on-field neurologist who diagnosed the concussion as they were walking to the locker room. Adams later apologized for the incident, "I wasn't myself."

Carroll said Adams should be cut a little slack for the situation.

"He's come back out of it and I think he's done the very classy thing and how he's handled it from that point," Carroll said.

Others who may be returning to the Seahawks lineup are left tackle Charles Cross, who has missed the last three games after suffering a toe injury in the opener against the Giants, and left guard Damien Lewis.

Seattle could also see corner Tre Brown, who is recovering from a concussion, and defensive tackle Jarran Reed back on Sunday.
