Seahawks Plan to Cut Special Teams Star Nick Bellore: Report
The Seattle Seahawks have already been busy making moves ahead of the start of the new league year on Wednesday, but are now set for another notable change.
Per reports Sunday from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Seahawks will be parting ways with fullback/linebacker and special teams standout Nick Bellore after five seasons with the team.
“The Seahawks and LB/FB/two-time Pro Bowl special teams ace Nick Bellore will part ways Monday, per source,” Pelissero tweeted. “Bellore, 34, has appeared in 200 career games and plans to keep playing. Now he’ll hit the free agent market.”
Bellore, a two-time Pro Bowler with the Seahawks, began his career in 2011 with the New York Jets before stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions. He arrived in Seattle in 2019, and has become a fan favorite due to his niche role on special teams.
In 200 career games and 17 starts, Bellore has posted 247 total tackles, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, five passes defended and one interception.
