Seahawks' DK Metcalf Joining 21 Savage, Others at NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf is joining a slew of big-name celebrities in Salt Lake City for the annual NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
In this story:

Seattle Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf will get a chance to show off his impressive athleticism at NBA All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City, as he'll be playing for Team Dwyane Wade at the All-Star Celebrity Game, per an announcement Wednesday.

Metcalf's team includes NBA legend Wade, rapper 21 Savage, singer/songwriter Janelle Monáe and more as they compete against Team Ryan Smith, who is the Utah Jazz governor and honorary captain.

Here's the full list for both teams:

Metcalf wrapped up another impressive campaign this past season despite the doubts that clouded the Seahawks. He posted a single-season career-high with 90 catches while adding 1,048 yards and six touchdowns.

Joining receiver Tyler Lockett as the favorite targets for Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith, Metcalf helped lead the Seahawks to a surprising postseason appearance.

Despite the 41-23 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card, Metcalf left it all on the field. He posted arguably his best stat line of the season in the loss, recording 10 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns against an elite 49ers defense.

But defense will likely be hard to come by at the Celebrity Game, giving Metcalf a chance to show off his skills on the hardwood. The event will help kickoff All-Star Weekend on Friday, Feb. 17.
