Seahawks Draft: Rumors Signaling Seattle's Chance at Anthony Richardson?

Predicting what the Seattle Seahawks will do on April 27 is becoming a headache. But these recent reports could shed some light on how the top of the draft could pan out.

Raise your hand if you've heard the talks connecting the Seattle Seahawks with star quarterback draft prospect Anthony Richardson, or any signal-caller in the class for that matter.

Well, get ready to hear it again ...

As draft rumors continue to heat up, the Seahawks could find themselves benefiting ... if, of course, their goal with the No. 5 pick is indeed to select a quarterback.

Per reports from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, there is growing buzz that the Indianapolis Colts, who hold the No. 4 pick in the draft, could select Kentucky's Will Levis right before Seattle is on the clock.

Combine this with the reports from Peter King of NBC Sports stating that "several influential voices" of the Carolina Panthers, who hold the No. 1 overall pick, could select Alabama's Bryce Young, and it becomes a bit easier to see where the dominoes might fall for Seattle.

If all this plays out in the current draft order, Panthers get Young at No. 1, Texans (likely) select Ohio State's C.J. Stroud at No. 2, Arizona Cardinals get defensive star of their choosing at No. 3 and Colts get Levis at No. 4.

Barring a potential trade, the Sehawks could potentially see Richardson fall into their laps at the fifth pick. And after making it clear how enamored they are with him, passing the former Florida Gator up might come as a bit of a surprise if these pieces fall into place.

The Seahawks and general manager John Schneider made it clear after Richardson's Pro Day that they view him as a top-tier talent.

“He was really impressive,” Schneider said Thursday on Seattle Sports 710. “Great athlete, great young man. He has a ton of physical talent, no question about it. ... He did a great job. He had fun, he was loose and he had a good time with his teammates.”

There is also the possibility that this is all for show in an attempt to get a talented defensive star like Alabama's Will Anderson to fall to No. 5 or get another team to scramble for a trade with Seattle to move up.
