Seahawks QB Drew Lock Reflects On Preseason: 'Ready To Roll!'
In their preseason finale on Saturday afternoon at Lambeau Field, the Seattle Seahawks got a chance to witness several of their backup players during a 19-15 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Among this group of players was second-string signal-caller Drew Lock, who showed flashes of an NFL starting quarterback on Saturday, completing 16 of his 25 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown.
Following the game, Lock was asked about the significance of receiving substantial playing time during the preseason, to which he expressed the immense importance of getting onto the field during the team's three exhibition games.
"Huge, huge for me," Lock said. "I've said it way too many times but, with limited reps last year, I was looking forward to this preseason. I knew I was going to get a lot of reps, and I just wanted to show, not only the players on this team, but also myself, that I can go out there and do this."
Additionally, Lock revealed that if he were to be summoned into game action, he feels confident that he would be prepared to step in.
"I'm confident in who I am as a quarterback. I'm excited with the way the plays and the drives over this whole combined preseason. I'm excited with the way they went. I feel confident going into this season that if anything were to happen, I'd be ready to roll," Lock said.
Lock will now look to assist starting quarterback Geno Smith and the rest of his teammates for the Seahawks' Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field on Sept. 10.
