Seahawks QB Drew Lock 'Really Rolling!' During Preseason

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock has been hitting all the right notes thus far in preseason, and coach Pete Carroll has nothing but positive things to say about his backup signal-caller.
In this story:

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock entered this offseason with a clear mind and path as to what his season would look like. And in the preseason, that's helped him tremendously.

Last season, Lock was battling Geno Smith for the starting role (which he ultimately lost), and that, naturally, took a bit of time to get used to. But now, clear and confident in where he stands in offensive coordinator Shane Waldron's offense, Lock has shown out in preseason.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has liked what Lock has done in his two preseason outings leading the offense.

“I think he's really rolling, I think he's fine, and I can't wait to see him play again this week, you know, and get out there and do it again," Carroll said.

"He's comfortable with it, he knows he's going to get some play time, and he'll be able to work his game. He's really impressive, he does great stuff every day on the practice field [with] throws, decisions, and movement. We would do everything that we can think of doing with him as we're doing with Geno.”

Lock has looked confident, and in command of the offense as he finally gets some proper snaps in live NFL action, as last season, he didn't see the field at all as Smith went about his business in leading Seattle to the playoffs.

Thus far in two games, Lock has completed 22 of his 30 passes for 310 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

While yes, it is important to remember that it is only preseason, and that Lock looks comfortable, most know that the regular season is a different beast.

But for Carroll and the Seahawks, having Lock make these kinds of improvements and be content with his position in the locker room could prove invaluable down the track.

As we know, the NFL is unpredictable, but the Seahawks' quarterback room is anything but. While being ready for any opportunity, Lock knows his place and is going out on the field and putting his best foot forward ... and he's clearly having fun doing it.
