Seahawks Rumors: No Contract Restructure for QB Geno Smith?
The Seattle Seahawks have been vocal about wanting quarterback Geno Smith to return in 2024. There were rumors that a contract restructure might in Smith's future as he enters Year 2 of a three-year, $75 million deal before being set to enter free agency in 2026.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Thursday that the Seahawks' front office has given their full commitment to Smith.
Smith passed for 3,624 yards and 20 touchdowns to nine interceptions this season, his second as the full-time starter in Seattle. In his first season, Smith led the Seahawks to a Wild Card appearance.
There is still a chance the team could take a young quarterback in the NFL Draft in April, but at least for now, Smith is their guy. Seattle has the No. 16 pick in the draft and has already met with Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.

The Seahawks are embarking on a new era as Mike Macdonald has taken over as head coach and is in the process of rounding out his staff and getting ready for the new season.
Right now, Smith is in those plans, but the team will no doubt revisit its quarterback situation next offseason. The question will be if Smith will be there to finish out the final year of his contract.
