Two weeks in a row Seattle Seahawks' quarterback Geno Smith has been a part of viral video, this time during a hilarious exchange with referee Alex Kemp.

With a masterful performance in Sunday's overtime win in Detroit, Geno Smith may have taken a step toward thrusting himself into the conversation for NFL MVP. And after just two weeks this season, he's already proving to be one of the league's most entertaining sound bytes.

Smith went viral in the season opener for yelling "Oh my God!" as ferocious Los Angeles Rams' defensive tackle Aaron Donald chased him down. This week against the Lions it was a different sort of reaction that earned Smith another priceless snippet of audio.

Seahawks - Geno Smith

With the Seahawks trailing, 21-17, early in the fourth quarter, Smith and receiver Tyler Lockett miscommunicated on a route and the quarterback's pass landed harmlessly incomplete. It was a bad mistake. But it wasn't - as referee Alex Kemp ruled, despite Smith not being pressured in the pocket - anything that deserved a penalty for intentional grounding.

As Kemp announced the 15-yard penalty, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll went ballistic on the sideline. And Smith excitedly approach the referee to plead his case.

"Intentional grounding ... ," Kemp said before being interrupted by Smith's plea. "I'm talking to America here, excuse me."

Fortunately for Seattle, Smith drove the offense for a score on that drive despite the erroneous penalty. The quarterback threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner to Lockett in overtime as the Seahawks improved to 1-1.

Not sure if it's possible for Geno to mic'd up live every week, but at this point he's got to be an enticing candidate for Season 2 of Netflix's series Quarterback.
