Madden 24 RB Ratings: Seahawks' Kenneth Walker III Overrated?
After it seemed like they could be headed toward a rebuild, the Seattle Seahawks might be considered "sexy" again after a surprise performance last season and an offense that features some of the league's biggest names.
This means that players who buy a new copy of Madden 24 might be more inclined to play as the Seahawks, as guys like Geno Smith, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett make Seattle a dangerous offense on paper, which makes all the difference in the Madden world.
Add in second-year running back Kenneth Walker III to the mix, and the Seahawks are an easy choice for one of the best well-rounded teams in this installment of the game. But with the individual player ratings being recently released, there's an understandable debate on whether or not Walker III should even be included in this elite conversation.
To some surprise, Walker III is an 87 overall in Madden 24, making him a top-10 running back in the video game based on rating alone. The 22-year-old certainly had a rookie season to remember last year. But to say he's teetering on being a 90 overall - a rating given to only the best of the best - might be a bit premature.
Just take a look at some of the big names he's rated higher than. Walker III has the same rating as Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Mixon, but is rated higher than guys like Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints, Miles Sanders of the Carolina Panthers, and Cordarrelle Patterson of the Atlanta Falcons. While Walker III is deserving of the praises he's been receiving, it's tough to argue that he's better than any of these veterans after just one season in the league.
Even though he didn't begin the season as the starter, Walker III lived up to his collegiate hype and finished 12th in rushing yards (1,050), 11th in carries (228) and tied for 10th in rushing touchdowns (nine). He was a key reason for Seattle's success during a Cinderella-like season.
However, while we're not trying to take anything away from him, Walker III will need to prove himself again in the always-unforgiving NFL this season to show that he's earned his elite Madden rating.
