Seattle Seahawks 'Have to Look in The Mirror' Ahead of Tilt vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Seattle Seahawks lost ground in the NFC West after their 31-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, but it's the manner in which Seattle lost that is the most concerning.
The first half was as poor as Seattle has been all season, as the offense couldn't get anything going against defensive coordinator Steve Wilks and the 49ers defense.
In the eyes quarterback Geno Smith, who was dealing with a tricep injury, every player has to look in the mirror and ask themselves if they are doing all the right things.
“I think kind of starts with every guy individually really just looking at his own film, his own tape, kind of looking himself in the mirror and say, what can I do to help the team? How can I be more consistent?” Smith said.
“How can I be more effective on a down-to-down basis and play better so that we can score more points than we are right now? It directly starts with me. But as you know, we're all connected out there, all 11, so every single guy has to look himself in the mirror, starting with me. We get time [to] reflect on this. It's tough. We get the time to reflect on it, figure out ways to get better.”
The Seahawks now drop to 6-5 this season as the issues that have plagued them continuously came to a head against the 49ers.
Seattle was 3 of 11 on third down and the turnovers piled on, as the Seahawks have now given the ball away 12 times in their last seven games.
The Seahawks now have an odd Thursday-to-Thursday preparation before they face the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on TNF. With time to "look in the mirror," we imagine a better performance will hopefully be forthcoming.
