ESPN is officially cleaning house, as reports Friday have indicated that the legendary multimedia sports company is cutting costs by laying off waves of well-known TV personalities, including some who have established themselves as sports royalty.

Even one of the best quarterbacks in Seattle Seahawks isn't safe from the company-wide restructuring. Per the New York Post, former Seahawk Matt Hasselbeck, who has served as one of ESPN's NFL analysts since 2016, has been laid off.

He joins other NFL greats-turned-analysts that are now out of a job, as Steve Young and Keyshawn Johnson were two of the other notable former players that will no longer be with ESPN.

ESPN also fired well-respected NFL host Suzy Kolber, who occasionally worked alongside Hasselbeck for coverage of Monday Night Football. NFL draft expert Todd McShay, talk-show host Max Kellerman, former NBA player Jalen Rose and former NBA coach Jeff Van Gundy were other notable names on the lay-off list.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Hasselbeck spent 10 years with Seattle. He helped lead the Seahawks to their first-ever Super Bowl during the 2005 season, though they fell 21-10 to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XL.

Hasselbeck went 26 of 49 passing for 273 yards, one touchdown and one pick in that game. He finished his Seahawks career with a 69-62 record across 131 starts while passing for 29,434 yards, 174 touchdowns, 128 interceptions, and eight rushing touchdowns.
