With their offseason program officially kicking off on Monday, the Seattle Seahawks announced a flurry of roster moves, including re-signing veteran cornerback Mike Jackson and linebacker Jon Rhattigan.

Jackson and Rhattigan, who each were restricted free agents, received qualifying offers from the Seahawks and signed those contracts prior to Monday's workouts. Jackson received an original round tender and will earn $3.166 million in 2024, while Rhattigan received a right of first refusal tende rand will earn $2.985 million next season.

Originally drafted by the Cowboys in the fifth round out of Miami in 2019, Jackson bounced around with multiple teams before joining the Seahawks as a practice squad signing in 2021. After impressing in a pair of games late that season as an injury replacement, he beat out Sidney Jones for a starting job across from then-rookie Riq Woolen in 2022, recording 75 tackles, an interception, and 11 pass breakups in 17 starts.

Last season, Jackson didn't retain his starting job with rookie Devon Witherspoon and a fully healthy Tre Brown seeing the bulk of the snaps across from Woolen. However, he wound up starting four games in the second half and remained productive, producing 34 tackles and five pass breakups while allowing no touchdowns in coverage.

As for Rhattigan, the ex-Army standout bounced back from an injury-shortened 2021 season to play in all 17 games for Seattle. Playing 303 special teams snaps and the first 19 defensive snaps of his career, he finished with 17 combined tackles and following the release of veteran Nick Bellore, he may now take over as the seasoned veteran on kick and punt coverage units.

In additional news, the Seahawks signed five exclusive rights free agents for the 2024 season, including defensive tackle Myles Adams, guard McClendon Curtis, tackle Raiqwon O'Neal, linebacker Joshua Onujiogu, and tight end Brady Russell. The team also cut second-year defensive tackle LaTrell Bumphus.

From that group of exclusive rights signings, Adams has appeared in 23 games for Seattle over the past three seasons and recorded his first career sack in 2023. Undrafted out of Colorado, Russell suited up in 15 games last season after being signed off Philadelphia's practice squad and produced seven tackles on 312 special teams snaps. Onujiogu missed all of last season with an elbow injury, but he did appear in a game as an undrafted rookie in 2022 and will compete for snaps in a deep edge group this spring.

Signed off of the Raiders and Buccaneers practice squads respectively, Curtis and O'Neal joined the Seahawks following injuries to starting tackles Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas in the Seahawks season opener last September. O'Neal suited up for three games, playing four offensive snaps, while Curtis played in one game with four special teams snaps. Both players should be in line to compete for roster spots after spending most of last season on the active roster with limited playing time.
