Seahawks Mock Draft: Seattle Picks Two Game-Changing Pass-Rushers in 1st Round

With a need to bolster the defensive line, the Seattle Seahawks add a pair of elite pass-rushers in this mock draft.
In this story:

Fresh off a playoff appearance, the Seattle Seahawks find themselves in a great position to add to an already talented roster with their pair of first-round picks in this year's draft.

With pick No. 5 and No. 20, there are several directions the Seahawks could choose to go when they're on the clock, with a popular mock draft scenario seeing them using at least one pick to bolster the defensive line.

However, in CBS Sports' latest mock draft they have the Seahawks using both picks to bolster their pass rush.

At No. 5 overall in this mock, Seattle selects EDGE Tyree Wilson out of Texas Tech, who has steadily climbed up draft boards this offseason after putting together an impressive senior season

This isn't the first mock to give the Seahawks Wilson at No. 5 overall, with another CBS Sports mock draft from Thursday pairing the two together.

What they do with pick No. 20, though, is potentially one of the biggest steals of the first round.

Joining Wilson in this mock draft is a defensive lineman that the Seahawks have been linked to at their No. 5 pick numerous times - Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter.

After a lengthy slide down draft boards, Carter is scooped up by the Seahawks to make it two elite pass-rushers in the first round.

The talent, of course, is there for Carter with 32 total tackles including seven tackles for loss and three sacks to go with two forced fumbles in his final season at Georgia. Despite that, though, there are both off the field issues and questions surrounding his work ethic.

There is no denying the Seahawks still need help along the defensive line, a problem they could solve in the draft.

Wilson appears to be a consensus top 10 pick, while Carter could slide down the board. If they do draft both, though, they could add two young, elite defenders to a defense that already features a franchise cornerstone in Tariq Woolen at cornerback.
