Seattle Seahawks Smother New York Giants, Record 11 Sacks in Monday Night Blowout
For their Week 4 matchup, the Seattle Seahawks hit the road and headed to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants.
The game's first half was riddled with penalties, but the Seahawks still dominated throughout the night to secure a 24-3 win thanks to the team's suffocating defensive performance and a game-changing 97-yard pick-six from rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon in the third quarter.
The Seahakws tied a franchise record with 11 sacks on the night.
Aside from all of the penalties that were the talk of the first half, it was also the brief return for Jamal Adams that turned heads. Just a few plays into the game, Adams appeared to come up a bit woozy after his helmet hit Daniel Jones' knee on a tackle. Monday was Adam's first time playing since Week 1 of last year.
On Seattle's first possession of the game, Kenneth Walker III broke a huge run for over 70 yards but was later ruled down which took off their first score of the game. They were however the first ones to score, as Geno Smith was able to connect with DK Metcalf as the first quarter expired.

After a three-and-out by Seattle that saw Smith go down with an injury, the Giants were able to add a field goal to cut the lead to 7-3.
In came Drew Lock who connected with Noah Fant who took the pass 52 yards for what was called a touchdown but overturned putting the ball at the one. This led to a Walker 1-yard score to extend the lead to 14-3.
To open up the second half, a fiery Smith came back into the game but was unable to get anything going on their first possession of the half. After the Giants got into scoring position late in the third quarter, Witherspoon not only picked him off but returned it 97 yards for a touchdown.
He wasn't the only Seahawk to pick off Jones, as Quandre Diggs was able to grab one himself thanks to the pressure put on by the defensive line. A unit that was able to get to and sack Jones 11 times.
Seattle was able to add a field goal to make it 24-3, which was the final score of the game. The win pushes the Seahawks to 3-1 on the year, with a trip to Cincinnati on the docket next week. The loss makes the Giants 1-3, as they head to Miami next weekend.
