Seahawks Odds to Win Super Bowl, NFC West Revealed
If you need proof that one year can make all the difference in how something is perceived, look no further than how the Seattle Seahawks are viewed as a team entering the upcoming season.
Heading into 2022, they were seen as a contender for one of the worst teams in the NFL, especially after the offseason trade of quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Instead, they fought for a division crown and clinched a playoff berth.
Now, though, they enter the 2023 season seen as a legitimate playoff contender and even a dark horse Super Bowl team to some. With a few months still left before the season starts this fall, the Seahawks currently sit at +230 odds to win the NFC West and the 14th-best odds (+3,300) to bring home the Lombardi Trophy.
Those Super Bowl odds are a definite improvement from where the Seahawks were heading into 2022 amidst concerns surrounding their roster.
Of course, it isn't hard to see why the Seahawks are one of the top teams in the NFC heading into the season.
Geno Smith is fresh off a career season with a plethora of weapons, from a receiver trio of Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba to running back Kenneth Walker III.
Defensively, the Seahawks look forward to the cornerback duo of second-year Tariq Woolen and rookie Devon Witherspoon. They also brought back franchise legend Bobby Wagner in free agency.
The Seahawks enter the season looking to battle with the San Francisco 49ers for an NFC West crown, and ready to prove that last season wasn't a one-off, but rather a sign of things to come.
