Seahawks Hiring Former Big Ten Pass-Rush Coach - Report
The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly adding a role-specific coach to Pete Carroll's defensive staff.
Seattle is expected to hire former Michigan State Spartans pass-rush specialist coach Brandon Jordan to the same role, per reports Saturday from NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
He joined Mel Tucker's staff at Michigan State in January 2022, but has plenty of experience with NFL talent. Jordan is the CEO of Brandon Jordan Trench Performance, and, per MSU's website, has helped train "more than 200 players on NFL rosters."
Some of the biggest names to train under Jordan have included NFL household names like Von Miller and T.J. Watt along with Pro Bowlers like Chandler Jones, Jadeveon Clowney and Cameron Heyward.
Jordan has previously served in assistant roles at Austin Peay and Missouri S&T, the latter of which sprung his coaching career into gear in 2012.
The Seahawks defense had the eighth-most sacks this past season (45) and isn't necessarily in any desperate need of major improvement in the pass-rushing area. The defense as a whole will be addressed this offseason if general manager John Schneider fulfills his promise, but adding Jordan to bolster something that Seattle was already solid in now hopes to pay dividends.
