Longtime Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll may be out of the coaching game (at least for now), but his sons are proudly carrying on his legacy in the field.

Carroll's sons, Brennan and Nate, have both coached under him at one point, but are off forging their own path now. The elder Brennan, 44, is excelling at the college ranks and currently the offensive coordinator for the Washington Huskies. Meanwhile, the younger Nate, 36, is moving on from the Seahawks for the first time in his career.

On Thursday, the Carolina Panthers hired Nate Carroll as their offensive pass game coordinator, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

In going to Carolina, Nate Carroll will reunite with some familiar faces. The most obvious of said faces being newly-hired head coach Dave Canales and offensive coordinator Brad Idzik, both of whom were longtime Seahawks assistants before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year. General manager Dan Morgan also worked with the Seahawks throughout the Carroll era.

Seahawks' Player-Turned-Coach Leaving For AFC

Nate Carroll first came to Seattle in 2011, one year after his father took over as head coach. He started as a defensive assistant, but moved to the other side of the ball in 2013 and has been there ever since.

His exact title has changed over the years, most recently being a senior offensive assistant over the past two seasons.
