Seattle Seahawks Trail Philadelphia Eagles at Halftime After Pregame Chaos
Monday night's battle of the birds hasn't exactly gone as planned for the Seattle Seahawks as they trail the Philadelphia Eagles 10-3 at halftime.
Unexpectedly, Seahawks fans watched on in suspense before the game due to some quarterback drama. The expectation heading into the game was that Drew Lock would get the start with Geno Smith still nursing a groin injury, but Smith was surprisingly made active just before kickoff. However, Lock still received the starting nod as originally planned, so Smith is serving as a backup for the first time this season.
Even with the sudden chaos at quarterback, it hasn't shown up much as Seattle has barely had the ball. The Seahawks finished the first half with just over 10 minutes of possession time, while the Eagles have held the ball for close to double that amount and gone on two separate scoring drives of 15 and 16 plays.
The first one ended in a Jalen Hurts rushing touchdown on the Eagles' specialty "Tush Push" play, while the Seahawks were able to make a red-zone stand and hold them to a Jake Elliott field goal the second time around.
When it seemed like the Seahawks may go to halftime with a donut on the scoreboard, they were able to put together a good drive and get on the board courtesy of a Jason Myers field goal despite stalling out in the red zone.
Lock, who's making his second straight start in place of the injured Smith, completed 10 of 14 passes for 64 yards. Kenneth Walker has rushed seven times for 21 yards, while Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught three passes for 19 yards.

For the Eagles, Hurts completed nine of 17 passes for 75 yards and added the aforementioned rushing score. D'Andre Swift rushed 10 times for 36 yards and A.J. Brown, who ranks third league-wide in receiving yards, caught three passes for 30 yards.
The Seahawks will get the ball to start the second half, hoping to hold onto the ball for at least a little longer.
