Seahawks Ranked Too Low in Post-Draft Power Rankings?

The Seattle Seahawks have a great chance to make noise in a weakened NFC West division next season.

The Seahawks Seahawks look to build on a surprising run the the playoffs after an offseason full of roster moves and additions, including adding 10 rookies through the 2023 NFL Draft. Rookie minicamp is about to begin and it's an exciting time of possibilities around the franchise.

Now that the dust has settled on post-NFL Draft rosters, Sports Illustrated has released new power rankings and the Seahawks land at No. 22. Why?

I’m glad the Seahawks didn’t panic on the QB front. Instead, I thought they stayed within their lanes and hit some solid shots. Pete Carroll and John Schneider, now out from underneath the Russell Wilson conundrum for a full year, have been able to better explore scheme fits.

Geno Smith may be only a one-year solution in Seattle, but it’s undeniable that Jaxon Smith-Njigba gives this receiving corps a formidable depth. Landing Zach Charbonnet, a complementary back for Kenneth Walker III who can catch and run out of the backfield but also pick up yardage in a crowded box, was also a win.

Is No. 22 too low? The Seahawks have a great chance to make noise in a weakened NFC West division. Seattle filled holes on the offensive line, defensive line and at the skill positions. Highlighted by two exciting first-round picks in cornerback Devon Witherspoon and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, it shouldn't be a surprise if they make it back to the postseason in 2023.

Seattle has major conference competition with the Philadelphia Eagles, who take the No. 1 spot in the rankings after drafting Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith in the first round and trading for Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift.

"The Eagles appear to be the best all-around team in the NFL right now," SI wrote

Oddsmakers don't agree, giving the Kansas City Chiefs the best odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.

Nothing stokes a season more than an Eagles team trying to usurp the champion Chiefs and a Seattle team on the tail with new weapons to utilize. And the fun is just beginning …
