The Seahawks rallied from behind for a comeback win for the second straight week with identical 20-17 scores. Just a week after backup Drew Lock engineered a scoring drive on the team's final possession to upset the visiting Eagles, Geno Smith was back at the helm to match Lock's feat against the Titans.

Smith returned to the lineup after missing two games with a groin injury and made sure the league took note by putting together a 14-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a five-yard touchdown pass to Colby Parkinson with under a minute to play.

It wasn't just the rest of the league taking note as Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll commented on Smith's contributions to the team.

“You’ve got to be around him to appreciate the competitive mentality that he has,” Carroll said, via the team website. “He’s in such a good place. He believes so strongly that it’s going to happen, and it’s going to get done and his guys are going to come through for him.

"And that belief it transfers, translates to other guys, they feel him. So they go through and do what they’re supposed to do, and it comes out well. He’s having an enormous impact on these guys just because his mentality is so strong and so consistent.”

With the win, Seattle moved to 8-7 and into the No. 7 spot in the NFC playoff bracket with two games to play. Smith has thrown for 3,145 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine picks this year while completing 64.8 percent of his passes.

Smith is in his second full season as under center for the Seahawks after three seasons backing up Russell Wilson, and after moving around the league as a backup since being drafted in 2013 - and is finally where he belongs.
