The Seattle Seahawks have 32 combined starts between the players in the quarterback room from the 2023 season.

Geno Smith, 33, is entering his third season as the Seahawks starter. But given his age and contract situation, the team traded for Sam Howell, who started all 17 games for the Washington Commanders a season ago.

While Seattle isn't in dire straits for a quarterback, the team certainly is better suited than others, which is why Bleacher Report gave the Seahawks a "medium" grade in regards to the team's "QB Panic Meter."

"Both Geno Smith and Sam Howell have had their moments, putting Seattle in a situation similar to Pittsburgh's but with a lot less talent," Bleacher Report writes.

While Smith has led the Seahawks to the playoffs in the past, there's reason to believe he may not be able to do so in the future. With the quarterback talent around the league improving, there's a question as to whether Smith is among the top half of starting signal callers going into the season.

That's part of why the team traded for Howell, but he quarterbacked the second-worst team in the NFL last season. Even though Howell brings a lot of promise and potential, there's concern as to whether he can lead a winning team as a starter at some point during his career.

This could behoove the Seahawks to add a quarterback in next month's NFL Draft, but if Seattle does so, expect the move to come on Day 3 as the team fills other more pressing needs in the earlier rounds.
