Seahawks Announce Quartet of Promotions in Personnel Department

Shoring up their personnel department before rolling into free agency and the draft, the Seattle Seahawks announced new titles for four key members, including long-time scout Aaron Highline.
In this story:

With the start of a new league year and the 2023 NFL Draft looming in coming months, the Seahawks announced promotions for four important members of their personnel department on Thursday.

Now entering his 11th season with the organization, Nolan Teasley will assume the role of assistant general manager after spending the previous five seasons as director of pro personnel. Working closely with general manager John Schneider, he will be heavily involved in the roster construction process, including free agency, player retention, and the draft.

Following eight seasons as the franchise's director of college scouting, Matt Berry will step into a new role as senior director of player personnel. While he will still be involved in college scouting as he has for nearly a decade, he will also take on pro scouting as well, helping the team make decisions on free agent signings and filling out their practice squad.

In additional moves, Aaron Highline will replace Berry as Seattle's new director of college scouting after being an assistant director working in conjunction with Berry for the previous three seasons. Assuming a new role after leaving an imprint on the draft process for the Seahawks for more than a decade, he will be entering his 18th season with the organization in 2023.

As for Teasley's replacement, Willie Schneider, nephew of John Schneider, will take over as the Seahawks director of pro personnel. He originally joined the organization's personnel department in 2017 as a pro personnel scout and served six seasons in that capacity, preparing him well for his new role.
