Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba Praised by Drew Lock: 'Sky's The Limit!'

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock has high expectations for rookie receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The Seattle Seahawks caught their first glimpse of several rookies during their 24-13 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in their preseason opener at Lumen Field on Thursday night.

Among these rookies was receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who caught three passes for 25 yards. While his numbers from the game weren't jaw-dropping, Smith-Njigba's quarterback on Saturday night, Drew Lock, believes that the rookie has the potential to be a special player in the NFL.

"He's going to be a great player," Lock said. "I'm extremely impressed with just, this is going to sound weird, but just the way he's able to move. The way he runs his routes, they're crisp, defined. He knows how to get open. When you give him the ball, he's going to catch it. He is sure-handed."

Lock also revealed that he has seen the potential for greatness in Smith-Njigba since he first stepped out on the practice field.

"There's guys that walk out on the practice field day one, your eyes kind of open when they do their first route, run their first play. He was one of those guys for me ... I think the sky's the limit for him as well," Lock said.

As the Seahawks prepare to host the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, followed by a matchup at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 26, the remaining preseason games will be of significant importance for Smith-Njigba. These matchups offer him a valuable opportunity to earn a solid role on offense as he looks to help the Seahawks make the postseason for the second straight year.
