The Seattle Seahawks got their initial look at their most recent draft class during training camp and the preseason and certain players began to make a strong impression.

Among the group of players who stood out was running back Zach Charbonnet, who showed flashes of potential in the team's three exhibition games. The rookie running back was able to rush for 46 yards on 10 carries and added four catches for 21 yards.

During his media availability on Wednesday, coach Pete Carroll was asked about the rookie running back and praised the UCLA product for his versatility.

"He really knows his stuff," Carroll said. "His assignments, solid, his technique is solid, and his effort is totally consistent. His burst has been there throughout camp where he can get out of trouble and traffic and get out of the way on those runs. He’s catching the ball really well. He’s done everything."

Additionally, Carroll feels that Charbonnet will serve as a nice complement to second-year running back Kenneth Walker III, who is currently recovering from a groin injury he has dealt with for the majority of training camp.

"Right now, we’ve got a really nice approach to this. Kenny’s (Walker III) looked great in the last two weeks since he’s been out. Just freaking on fire. We can feel the one-two," Carroll said.

Charbonnet will now get his first opportunity to be a contributor for Seattle in their Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field on Sept. 10th.
