Seahawks Ex OL Russell Okung Details Weight Loss Transformation

Former Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Russell Okung shared on Twitter his post-retirement weight loss transformation and offered a look at how he did so.
In this story:

It is certainly no secret that offensive lineman are some big guys, routinely weighing near or above 300 pounds. After all, when you're in the trenches, you're asked to be big and strong so you can hold your own against the defense.

However, while they bulk up to those weights with ease, it is also rather common for a lot of retired offensive lineman to quickly shed heaps of weight when they no longer need to maintain their playing shape.

The latest example of this is former Seattle Seahawks offensive lineman Russell Okung, who took to Twitter to share his remarkable weight loss transformation and how he achieved it.

"I fasted for 40 days with nothing but water. Yes, you read right!" Okung tweeted. "The experience was so rich and rewarding that I’m going to do it again."

Okung last played for the Carolina Panthers three years ago in 2020, and claims that he has gone from over 330 pounds during his playing days to losing over 100 pounds since retiring.

Without the need to maintain a 330-pound frame, Okung has been able to change himself completely - and is looking forward to maintaining his new-look body.
