Sean Payton Orders Seahawks Ex Russell Wilson, 'F*****g Stop Kissing Babies!'

Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton thinks Russell Wilson is focused on non-football-related things more than the start of the season
In this story:

As Russell Wilson's tenure with the Seattle Seahawks began winding down, we learned just how - unpopular he was in his own locker room. …at least in sine circles.

The quarterback who was once viewed as an undersized underdog overcoming the odds, had become a divisive figure and is even having issues with his new head coach headed into his second season with the Denver Broncos.

Former New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton is tasked with figuring out if he can help Wilson return to his previous form, and they clearly have some different approaches to how the quarterback should be handling himself. There might be a belief that Wilson is focusing more on off-the-field manners than football itself.

According to ESPN, it has gotten to the point that Payton told Wilson he is acting like he is a politician in the midst of an election run.

“Will you f****** stop kissing all the babies? You’re not running for public office,” Payton reportedly said to Wilson.

While the message may come off as a tad harsh, Wilson is fresh off of his worst season in the NFL. His completion percentage (60.5), passing touchdowns (16) and passer rating (84.4) all were the lowest marks of his career, and it is evident he is no longer as elusive as he once was.

On top of his career lows, Wilson also had far too much power and leeway in his first year in Denver. Reports indicated that Wilson brought in his own staff separated from the Broncos coaching staff, and was given his own office away from the team. The persona that Wilson has developed is so extreme that NFL Network's Kyle Brandt even went as far as to say Wilson is “one of the least authentic personalities we have in this league” last year.

This season feels like it could be a career-saving or career-sealing season for Wilson, as it will be hard to sell the former Seahawk if he can't make it work with Payton
